What time do the Races start? 

The Marathon & Half Marathon both start at 8:00 am.  The 5K Starts at 8:30 AM on Saturday.

Is the Wineglass Marathon an official qualifying race for the Boston Marathon?

Yes!  The Wineglass Marathon is a USATF certified course which qualifiies runners for races like Boston where a specific time is required.  All individual runners results are sent to Boston immediately after the Wineglass to insure they have the information when you send in your application.  

What is the temperature? 

Typical weather for the Corning, NY area at the end of September and early October is cool and relatively dry.  The average starting temperature for the Wineglass over the last 10 years has been at or slightly below 40F (~5C).  

How many runners are there? 

The field for 2012 is open to 2,500 Full Marathoners and 1,500 Half Marathoners.  This is an increase of 1,000 total runners from 2011.  Both races sold out over 3 months before race day in 2011.

Does registration close? 

Registration for the Wineglass Marathon and Half Marathon closed the end of June 2011.

Can I register at the Expo or on Race Day?

No.  If the race does not close early all registrations must be submitted no later than September 10, 2012.

Where and when is the Expo ?

The Expo will be held at the Corning Community YMCA starting on Friday from 12:00/NOON till 5:00 PM and again on Saturday from 9:30 AM till 5:30 PM. You can pick up your Race Bib/Chip, Runners Bag and shirts.  The Information Center on Market Street which is a short walk away will have your Wine Glass and Split.

If I am coming in late on Saturday is there Bib Pick up at the Start Line?

Yes, you may pick up your Bib Number (only) at the Start Line area before the race.  You will then be able to pick up the rest of your "goodies" at the Finish Line area (Shirt, Wine Glass etc.)

Is there transportation to the Start Line?  

Bus transportation to the Start Line from Market Street in Corning, NY (Finish Line) is free to all runners!  Transportation is provided to both the Full and Half Marathon starting lines. The Buses will begin departing from the finish line area at 5:30 AM.  The Last Bus will leave at 7:00 AM.

Is there transportation back to the Start Line after I finish the race?

Yes. There will be buses near the Finish Line that will take Runner's back to their cars at the Start Line. The buses back to the start will begin departing at 11:00 AM.

Is the Marathon walker-friendly? 

Yes. The Wineglass Marathon & Half Marathon is open to all competitors, with few restrictions. 

How long will the race course be open?  

We will maintain timing up to about 6 1/2 hours for those within "striking distance" of the Finish Line at the 6 hour mark.  

Can I use a baby jogger, roller blades, scooter or bike? 

No. These items are all strictly prohibited from the race course.

Is there a place where I can take a Shower after the Race?

Yes! Runner's may take a complementary Shower at the Corning Community YMCA.  Bringing your own Towel is advised. 

Is there a Pasta Dinner? 

Yes!  Go to the "Plan Your Visit" Section of the Web-site for a listing of the participating Restaurants.

Registration is NOW OPEN! The Wineglass Marathon Weekend Events Presented by Arnot Health (Full, Half and 5K) will be held October 4th, 2013 - October 6th, 2013.  The Events include the Expo, 32nd Wineglass Marathon and 3rd Annual Wineglass Half Marathon and the 2nd Annual Wineglass 5K Sponsored by the Community Foundation. October 6, 2013 at 8:00 am the Wineglass Marathon Presented by Arnot Health will have its 32nd year running! The Wineglass Marathon is a flat, fast and scenic 26.2 miles starting in Bath, NY and finishing in Corning, NY on historic Market Street. In 2011, a new tradition was born with the running of the inaugural Wineglass Half Marathon, this will be the third year for this popular race.  Wineglass Weekend will also feature the Second Annual Wineglass 5K on Saturday, October 5th  sponsored for the second year by the Community Foundation of Elmira, Corning & the Finger Lakes.”  There will NOT be a Registration Fee Increase for 2013!
