Each year, almost 2,000 volunteers are needed to help coordinate and execute the Wineglass Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K!
Here's what the runners had to say about our volunteers:
-When I ran Wineglass this past go 'round, I was blown away by how great the volunteers were. I may have asked one to marry me.
-The Wineglass volunteers rock!!
- I do not take WGM volunteers for granted. Their enthusiasm and helpfulness are a huge part of making this event a total gas.
- Great to meet you, Sheila! Your volunteers were awesome on the course... so well done! I got my BQ and a PR... love Wineglass! CHEERS!!
-I'd like to give a very big thanks to the volunteers for making my first marathon an unforgettable experience. Every single volunteer I spoke with was super nice and helpful. Thanks, Wineglass - I will be back!
-Thank you so much to everyone who was a part of putting on such a great event. Today was my first half marathon and from packet pick-up to finish, it was smooth, smooth, smooth. Thank you for all of your hard work!
- What a freaking awesome Marathon. I'd come back in a heart beat. Great job guys and thanks to all the volunteers for making it possible!
-The simple words "Thank you" doesn't seem enough to say how much I appreciated this well organized race. It was my first time in Corning and I was a bit nervous and didn't know what to expect. First off I was very impressed how well organized the bib and wineglass pick up stations were. No stress whatsoever,,the volunteers did a fantastic job explaining everything and wishing each participant a good race with smiles on their faces even at 4pm on Saturday. I really was put to ease when on Race day I was directed by several volunteers to the bus I needed to take and again I was wished good luck! The police men who directed traffic and kept runners safe. The bicyclists riding the roads and checking on the runners... The volunteers throughout the race were caring, fantastic and motivational..I will always remember the young gal at mile 12.5 who gave me a high five and said "you've got this"...just when I thought I wouldn't make it and fail...A special thank you to the people who helped me at the first aid tent at the finish line. They were attentive and sincerely caring which made me feel at ease instantly. This race was the best one I have ever done and was a 1st class customer service act. To Each and Every volunteer and of course the Race Directors.........."Take a Bow" you did good...THANK YOU. ! I look forward to 2013 Race!!
